Should We Delete Our Accounts From Facebook?
| Reviews |
Its a question that arose in everybody's mind just after he got known about the"Draw Mohammad Day"page on facebook. Actuall
y, I was not going to publish this post about facebook because I think that we ourselves are promoting the facebook page"Draw Mohammad Day". If we ignore it just like we'd ignored other such activities by non-muslims then those people who are the creators of this page must not have gained such global coverage. But I'm sure that this post will help everybody facing this problem. First of all the answer of the question"Should We Delete Our Accounts From Facebook?"
No, thats the most immature thinking of our Muslim community. Pakistani Website Leaders like ProPakistani.pk, AllThingsPakistan, whitegreen, mobi2weet.com and many more are using facebook.com and twitter, so its not possible!
Moreover, these are the most active communities in the whole world. Still the pages and events like Draw Mohammad Day can be banned individually, but the whole network shouldn't be blamed.
We know that Facebook is showing one sided policy. But Facebook is similiar to other mediums, and any medium can be used for both good and bad purposes. Its upto you, how you use and utilize facebook. Pakistan Information and Telecommunication Ministry has officially ordered PTA to ban such kinda URLs in Pakistan. So, all ISPs were directed by PTA to ban this page on thier network. PTCL has banned it, while I tried ufone.pinternet and it hadn't banned it yet.
Update: Facebook and Youtube both are completly blocked in pakistan. But you can still open them using Opera Mini5, UCWEB7, SkyFire or any other proxy-based browser. Another method is using a proxy in a modern browser like Mozilla Firefox.
